The Problem
Event management platforms have a dirty secret: many of them monetize attendee data. They track who goes to which events, build behavioral profiles, and sell that data to sponsors, advertisers, or “partner” companies. Attendees have no idea this is happening.
Rumpus takes a different approach. Event data belongs to the organizer. Attendee data is collected only as needed for the event itself. Nothing is shared with third parties. Nothing is used for profiling.
Photo Galleries Without Surveillance
One of Rumpus’s features is event photo galleries. Here’s what we don’t do with those photos: facial recognition, automatic tagging, biometric data extraction, or any form of computer vision that turns event photos into surveillance data.
Photos are photos. They capture memories. That’s it.
Built for Organizers
Rumpus gives organizers the tools they need — custom branding, automated promotion, A/B testing for event pages, archiving — without requiring them to compromise their attendees’ privacy. You can run a professional event operation and still treat your attendees as people, not data points.
The Technical Foundation
React Router v7 for a fast, modern interface. PostgreSQL for reliable data storage. Redis for real-time features and caching. The architecture is designed for performance and reliability — because when you’re running a live event, you need tools that don’t break.
